Start with the Cake Board, Then Design the Box

A cake’s nominal size alone is not enough to specify its packaging. Send the outside diameter of the cake board or tray, the widest decorated product diameter, maximum decoration height and finished weight. We can then review usable internal space, wall clearance, lid closure and the support base together.

For cream-topped cakes, loading and removal should be checked with the actual product or a representative sample. Discuss a removable support board, liner or suitable lifting arrangement during development. For cupcakes, cookies and mixed dessert gifts, an insert layout can be developed around the number and shape of the items.
